Whitehaven Coal Limited

Whitehaven Coal is a coal mining company listed on the ASX.

Bizzell Capital Partners established Pecten Corporation Ltd and raised $2.4m in seed capital to identify investment opportunities.

Pecten Corporation subsequently acquired the Whitehaven Coal Group which owned 3 operating coal mines in NSW producing over 2 million tonnes per annum of coal and changed its name to Whitehaven Coal Ltd.

Whitehaven Coal Ltd listed on the ASX 1 June 2007 with a market capitalisation of over $300 million.  Bizzell Capital Partners also placed $1m of the $1.9m capital raising associated with the Company’s ASX listing.

The Company’s market capitalisation is now over $3 billion
